The ideal heart shot is in the bottom third of the deer's chest cavity. At any distance up to 125yds you can consider that point blank. With a .308 the bullet drop is about 2.7 inches. Assuming a sight height of 1 3/4 inches, at 100 yards that's about 1.7 MOA. Add them up: 4.3 MOA.
