Psoroptes equi, P. ovis, P. natalensis, and P. cuniculi have been implicated in equine infestations. WebPsoroptic Mange: Rare in horses. Appears in areas of thick hair such as under the forearm, mane, base of the tail, under chin, hindlegs, udder, and in the armpit. Thick lesions usually develop. May cause head shaking. Trombiculidiasis (Harvest Mange): Caused by larvae of certain breeds of mites. It affects the face, especially the lips, and feet.
